back to the classroom

Today was our first day of what's referred to 'round these parts as "Back to the Classroom."  It's basically a month where we revisit a classroom curriculum before we're shot out of the cannon into the gritty experiential learning of internship.  To put it simply, the month is a breeze.  "Back to the Crossword."  Half days, no exam, no real attendance taken except in the form of short journal article critical evaluations that we have to turn in each morning.  But still, it's too much for me.

I'm such a wuss now.  I have become dumb.  Fourth year has turned my brain to mush.  I can't sit in a classroom listening to a lecture for three hours without doodling inane little drawings in the margins of my syllabus or passing notes like an eighth grader.  It's like going back to the first or second year of med school, only with no motivation whatsoever.  There's a syllabus!  There are topics!  They're doing that whole Socratic method thing, and no one is in the mood to expend the minimal energy that it would take to open their mouths, much less think.
