and they're off! This morning, at 11:00am, I submitted my online applications for a residency in Pediatrics. So now it's for real. I'm going to be a Pediatrician. Here's to a future of poverty! Today is the first day applications are being accepted online (there's some complicated procedure wherein each program has an online "post office," the doors of which have apprently not been open to the public until today), and the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was to roll over the my computer and send those electronic bad boys off. It was a relief to get those things out. Part of me wanted to submit the last night, as it was past midnight by the time we got home from dinner, and thus, officially September 1st. But then I didn't want to be the Crazy Applicant, like, all camped out overnight in front of each program's post office, the first person in THE UNIVERSE to get in her application, postmarked 12:01am on September 1st. I didn't want to seem desperate. So I held off until this morning. And now we play the waiting game. xo Michelle |
