bring it on
Today was my first day of a five-day total Ophthalmology rotation. It was my day in the OR, and we got to watch a couple of cataract surgeries. It was pretty cool. The best part about it was the fact that it was so clean. Hardly any blood at all. And the precision of it was pretty amazing, the surgical field being so small. I can see the obsessive-compulsive allure of such a field for a seasoned OCDer such as myself.
What a pleasant day it was. Got out of work early. (The afternoon "lecture" turned out to be a twenty-minute videotape about diabetic retinopathy, which had the look and feel of a badly made 80's public service announcement.) Went running up to the Cloisters. Sat on a park bench in the sun and enjoyed some Jeremy Irons vibrato. Saw Sam walking his new beagle puppy down the block and petted it on the head.
It's supposed to be 88 degrees and sunny tomorrow. Crazy! I know there's a drought going on, so I should be more pro-rain, but at this point, after a long, grey winter, all I can say to a hot, sunny spring day is: bring it on.
