night out
Tonight Joe and I are going out to celebrate. Cause of celebration: the dual acheivements of finishing Neurology, and doing well in our Pediatrics and Medicine rotations, the evaluations from which came back in the last few weeks. Joe decided that he was going to make all the restaurant arrangements.
JOE I made the reservations.
MICHELLE For Saturday? Great!
JOE (Sing-song voice) Eight o'clo-ock...
MICHELLE Sounds good. Where are we going?
JOE (Sing-song) It's a surpri-ise.
MICHELLE No hints?
JOE You'll never guess anyway. It's a new restaurant, and a new kind of cuisine.
MICHELLE Japanese food?
[This was a joke, since we're always getting Japanese food or some sort of Asian-inspired fare every time we eat out.]
JOE No, you'll never guess.
MICHELLE New kind of cuisine, huh? Is it tapas?
JOE (Silence)
MICHELLE It's tapas, isn't it.
JOE Damn you!
So I guess we're going out for Spanish food tonight, even though I still don't know where we're eating. Somewhere on the Upper East Side though. My old stomping grounds.
Man, I haven't had tapas since I went to visit my sister in Barcelona. We were staying in the same hotel as the Backstreet Boys. No, really. OK, so maybe they arrived there a week after we had checked out, but still. Backstreet Boys! "Hi Carson, This is Tiffany from Scranton, and I'd like to request 'I Want it That Way' from the Backstreet Boys because they're totally hot, and if they wanted to be my boyfriends, then I'd want it that way...WOOOOOOOOOOO!"
(That's just a TRL joke. I don't really like the Backstreet Boys. Well, only a little.)
